Q: How long is the golf course and how does the golf course accommodate a variety of skill levels, the photos make the course look really hard.

A: The course ranges in length from 7,800 to 5,500 and there is a set of family and junior tees in each of the fairways as we build the course. One of our challenges on this project has been the elevation 6100’ +/-, the ball travels greater distances, especially for players that strike the ball solid. We have only added length to the furthest back tee sets so the course is playable for everyone. The photos are certainly dramatic. We expect the golf course to be challenging yet appropriate, greens are very large and fairways very wide. Each hole has it’s own mystery, clues are everywhere such as slopes that direct the ball toward a desired landing area, or toward the green. Every hole provides options for the ball to be played along the humps and bumps of the ground or in the air. We’re excited about how the course is progressing and look forward to finishing soon.

Q: Will Huntsman Springs be a Family oriented facility?

A: Huntsman Springs has taken into account the family experience from day one.  We are having Family tees built during construction of the course.  Our family tees will range in distance from 300 - 200 yards out from our greens complex’s on all par 4 and par 5’s.  Our thoughts behind building the family tees is to provide young children and beginners with a positive and fun experience while learning the game of golf here at Huntsman Springs.

Q: How long has David McLay Kidd been designing golf courses?

A: David’s major design work began in 1991 when he took over as "Director of Design" for Gleneagles Golf Developments (GGD) where he designed courses across 3 continents.  In 1998, upon completion of the Bandon Dunes course, David established DMK Golf Design.
