Idaho Fishing Trips With John Pehrson,
Fly Fishing Coordinator at Huntsman Springs
Fifty years ago, in 1960, John Pehrson began guiding Idaho fishing trips in Southeastern, Idaho. He began guiding, at age 13, for Alma Kunz, owner and founder of Teton Valley Lodge, formerly Alma’s Lodge. In 1973, John Pehrson and Randy Berry purchased Teton Valley Lodge. Catering to fly fisherman across the globe, for the next 30 years as partners, they operated the largest full service fly fishing float trip business in the world. In 2003, John sold his half of the lodge to Randy’s sons, Brian and Matt Berry.
During these years, John and Randy owned and operated three fly tying operations, one in Costa Rica, and developed many rods, lines and custom flies used widely in the industry today.
John is pleased to be working with the Huntsman Family at Huntsman Springs as their fly fishing coordinator. He is also excited to have a continued relationship with Teton Valley Lodge as a licensed guide. With Teton Valley Lodge being the outfitter for all of Huntsman Spring’s Idaho fishing trips, this truly is a match made in heaven. John looks forward to being with you this summer to introduce you to the sport of fly fishing, introduce you to the many Idaho fishing trips in the area and to further your interest in the sport.
